Like I said, good friend. Whenever I find something Ys related that I do have, and you happen to want, I'll let you know.

2
I find it amusing to see so many guests around. Specially after certain events.

Rock on, gentlemen.  :deadhorse:

Well, if it's just "raw photoshopping" for the Manual Scans, count me on it.

I'm using Win68k Highspeed myself. It is -- in my opinion -- the best X68000 emulator. I've been using SX Window 3.0 (OS) with virtual hard drives on it as well. Works like a charm.

Indeed the best... But I couldn't make certain games run on it, like Garou Densetsu 1&2... On my X68K it runs smoothly.

Best Ys I: Fujitsu Micro 7/77 Port (The full version of Final Battle is played in this version), followed by Ys Eternal (Not Complete... ETERNAL, the very FIRST release, where Dark Fact was INFERNAL to beat)
Best Ys II: MSX2 (It is one of the HARDEST Ys II around.) Ys II Special for DOS comes in second.
Best Ys III: Oath in Felghana (I think that storywise it's how Ys III should've been)
Best Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys (Need to say anything else ?)
Best Ys V: Ys V Expert  (Time Attack RULES)
Best Ys VI: Pc version (It'll remain like this until another port comes around)

Even though the X68000 is obsolete nowadays, I'm still marveled that it could do such amazing games with so limited processing and storage power. Too bad that it didn't make it overseas. The Final Fight on X68K is AS GOOD as the arcade version (infinitely SUPERIOR than the Super Nes port).

Ummmm...This console's games were in cartriges (like SNES) or CDs (like PCE)?
And, errrmm...do you know how many Ys games were made for that console?
Let's put it in order:

It's not a console... it's a Personal Computer (Sharp X68000)
The game medium was 5.25" in diskettes.
The OFFICIALLY released games for that system are Ys and Ys III.

Did the exclusive X68000 tracks ever make it to an OST or compilation? I'm anticipating a "NO!", unless, of course, Falcom put out a compilation of "little-known" or "obsucre" Ys tracks (a compilation of this sort would be a great idea, in my opinion)...

No. The X68000 OST never came to public because, like Seldane said, it wasn't a successfull release on Japan. And if you ask me "Why didn't Falcom release the exclusive songs of this version on their Falcom Special Boxes (or any album)?" I'll say it's because of the copyrights. They weren't made by Falcom... and as far as I know, the composers didn't allow it's usage... afterall it's THEIR songs...

I wonder if Wii is a dummy name.  According something I read online, the name is not copyrighted.

Actually, I don't care much about the system's name... All I want to know is that it'll have some GOOD games to make it's purchase worth.

Actually, trolls are VERY common nowadays. He he.

By the way -- if you don't like Ys, or "Ys geeks", then why are you here? This is a message board for Ys fans to quote NightWolve himself.

OFF TOPIC > Trolls are rare to be seen for THAT long. Usually they're banned on the first 10 posts.

Back to topic... > I'm a Ys fan since 1988. And DAMN PROUD of it ! And I count the DAYS to see the next game on the series...

I find this comical that these Ys geeks are worked up that I miss spelled Ys. This is actually a pretty entertaining thread. As far as that goes,I agree with what joe said.Get a life man.

Then let me quote myself again, lad...

As for "getting a life", speak for yourself. it's MISSPELLED, not MISS SPELLED. You didn't like my comment ? I don't give a rat's arse. And if you CANNOT write "Ys" correctly, I wonder WHY you play it... And do you have anything against "Ys Geeks" ? If you do, I believe you should keep that to yourself... and pipe down. I believe that at least 70% of the members here are Ys fans.

And I gotta admit... it's rare to see your kind here... Trolls are truly RARE to see in forums nowadays.

Exactly Estaban... most people around here SHOULD know that I know the correct spelling. It was just a typo.

Anyway, like I stated before... if it has a CORRECT name, use it. Unless you like to be called "Martha" instead of your true name, since you don't mind mispellings or typos.

As for being "Fictional" or not, try going to a nearby library and find a book, typing a mispelled / incomplete title or author. I bet you'll find it rather difficult.
Get a life you nerds ;)
Remember: Nerd is a mild offensive term. And as for life... speak for yourself.

Nobody has found any differences in the beta since it doesn't "exist." These are magazine scans and the one who made that website has never played this beta.

While it is easy to fake these things (I've made it myself once, hehehe) I still think this is legit. It has yet another reference to Asteka II (YsI has a couple of them) but sure, someone could have had that in mind while faking those screenshots.
I find that too much work, Seldane... Why someone would fake the reference pics of TnS and Ys I ? Too much free time on their hands ? Sounds unreasonable to me.

What can we do, is to ask someone who actually PLAYED Taiyou no Shinden till the end, and ask him if the comparison scenes aren't edited somehow. If I'm not wrong, Gillian Seed finished the Pc port of Taiyou no Shinden a LONG time ago.

On a side note... correcting people spelling of Ys is unnessasary. It's a fictional word, and anyone who cares enough to look at the box or title screen will see it's Ys. I usually say Y's just because it's habit to put a ' between a y and an s in other words. Fan boys get their panties in a wad ( no offence to any of you, heh ) but it's quite trivial really.
Not trivial. If there's a CORRECT name to describe it, use it. Simple as that.

Hm. I'm not USED to that translation of Sandria / Sandoria.
I also wonder if the next Ys chapter will be the LONG AWAITED "Five Dragons of Artago" (Artago = Cartago ?)... or yet ANOTHER Chapter...

If someone wants to translate this... I recommend the Globalgate translator (www.nifty.com/globalgate)

Here are the instructions to use it...

Well, my main interest isn't to "recreate" an Ys Soundtrack... in fact is to alter the game's engine and adapt its graphics & music to fulfill my interests.

^_^

EDIT :/> Specially when I found some pics of the what would be the beta version of Ys I... Thanks for your answer, NightWolve :).

Ys I & II Complete / Question about Ys I.II Complete Wave Files...
« on: Apr. 26, 2006, 01:16:02 PM »
How does the ".pos" files work, when they define the "loop part" of each song ? How can someone re-create those files to make loops on alternate soundtracks ?

Thanks

I want to use it for a nefarious purpose  ;D ;)

I discovered Ys a couple of months after the release of Ys II for PC8801.
My friend who came from Japan, brought a Pc8801 and Both Ys I and Ys II... I played them, fascinated with the music & graphics...

In 1990,  I bought the Ys for Sega master system, and I could FINALLY say that I completed the 1st chapter.

So far, I do lean towards "Felghana" if you must know. For one, it was only one line that the Konami script made reference to "Felgana" - a line delivered by Ernst. Second reason is cause I'm lazy and having to change "Felghana" to "Felgana" will require editing some images like the title screen which I really don't feel like doing. The motivation isn't there to feel so strongly about this to go that far. So far, at least. If the Konami script made a bunch of references to "Felgana" spelled that way, I would more strongly consider it.

Anyway, I had wanted to debate it with Psycho DeuceBag some more, but never got around to it. It does appear it's Falcom's take on Fergana, a real place, like "Greek" for Greece and "Romn" for Rome/Roman, etc.

Impressive. It seems that I'm not the only one interested on the "real" locations of the Ys' Countries and Cities.

The interesting part of the Link you posted NW, is that  according to Wikipedia, Fergana and Felghana are somewhat close to each other, at least according to this map.

I don't recall where, but I believe I saw a couple of "Selceta" written around in some fan sites and translations.

As for the "Felghana / Felgana" issue, IMO "Felgana" sounds more gypsy-like (as if it was a village in the middle of the Carpatian Alps).

But in the name of the good continuity of the series, I vote for "Felghana".

(And still in time, Hello peeps !)
