Subject: Re: As I can't leave you a message on AIM
From: NightWolve on: Today at 04:18:59 PM
First off. I'll give you confirmation. Yes. All of your IP has been deleted. We decided upon that immediately after we cut off our conversation.

Well, that better be the case. I'll make sure of it when/if I ever see anything go public from you, however.

Quote
Second. Since when is Sora no Kiseki part of your IP? It's not. It's Falcom's. You have no right to say that I must stop translating after I've broken ties with you, because we can't agree on how to utilize and distribute it to the masses. That's what we argued on in the first place. We don't have any right to charge for anything that we didn't originally create.

How in the fuck did I include the game itself as part of my IP?

Use your fucking brain. My IP is solely limited to what I gave you. Confirmation that you deleted EVERYTHING I ever gave you is what I was looking for.

I have no right to stop you from working with others nor did I make any comments indicating as such. My concern was they got a hold of work THAT I DID from you, you dumb biotch.

Third. You came to me. You said on here that I came to you. That's a total lie. You came to me, saying 'Why are you doing it this way?' and so forth. I was content with translating it the /hard way/. By hand. Without tools.

That's bullshit. You were put into touch with me from the people at ALOY. You came to them, looking for programming assistance. You were a translator asking/begging for assistance, which isn't the usual case. Usually it's the programmer that hacks the game and then advertises to attract a translator for it... I had no fucking means to "come to you" if you didn't use somebody else's message board to advertise in an attempt to attract somebody willing to provide programming assistance.

http://seldane.proboards107.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=falcom&thread=1131516364

Your first fucking post contains a question that asks for help on how to go about extracting the script for your programmer.

From what I see, your programmer later bailed on you, and then you decided to embark on something insane like translating from the game as you see it. On that same later post, you said the following:

Quote
If anyone knows how to get it to me, a script dumped from the game would be amazingly appreciated, because of late I've kinda been hand typing the entire thing as I've played the game. XD;; "

Asking for help on a board where I visit, where people know me, know my projects, and mention me is gonna lead to people telling me about your fucking begging for programming assistance on a game like that, WHICH IT DID for your fucking information... So, since you were a translator looking to get this project started and I was a programmer who was informed of the fact, that led to our getting in touch with each other IF WE'RE GONNA BE FUCKING SPECIFIC. I dunno, maybe you should've kept your mouth shut since you had trouble deciding what you wanted.

Fourth. 15%? You notice that it's not precise anymore, right? "Approximately 15%" does not mean "We are 12.3% of the way done" or whatever my last percentage was under your tools was. "Approximately 15%" means we think we're 'bout 15% into the progress of this project."

Precision wasn't my fucking problem. Suspicion was more than warranted given the circumstances and the rather quick (relative to translation projects) revival of the project.

We're not using your utilities.

I'll verify that for myself in the end, like I said.

After the things I've seen from that message, I have little trust to give you the URL for it, since it is. Well... a wiki.

I don't want anything from you other than complete confirmation that you deleted any script dump I gave, any database, any patcher, any kernel file which demonstrated text interception techniques, ANY FILE I ever gave you. Period.

Quote
Anyhow, we're translating via chapter, via text files, by text replacement that we're doing by hand. No MS Access files. No database. Oh, hey. Look. Our files also actually tell us who's speaking rather than just having to rely on the call #s for the face icons.

However, this way, we have a reliable method for having multiple translators work with each other without having to pass a 30-something meg database back and forth. We can just send over a text file that is, at the most, 251kb. ...which is, actually, the piece with all the Liberl News issues.

Oh, that's cute. Getting bitchy on my level of progress in a translation system with everything else I had going on. Heh.

Quote
Fifth. I never gave anyone ANYTHING. The only things I handed off were the icon lists I made, and the notes that I wrote while handwriting it. I just gave over MY WORK. Not your utilities. Not your tools. Not your script. Because I think we've got a better one.

End Point? You're not the only person in the world who knows enough about programming to do this.

No, I'm not, nor do I claim to be. However, given the difficulties and complexities of the this particular game, suspicions were fully warranted. The problem lies with the quick revival of the project with a magic programmer that showed up out of the blue. More than reasonable to guess he got some extra help with a fairly developed prior system which hadn't been done before.

But OK, either you're telling the truth or you're lying. If this is the truth, we are finished and good riddens. I truly do hope this is the truth.

http://community.livejournal.com/ed6/ - Check it out for yourself, if you want.

I already looked there, dumbass. That was posted here.

We're keeping our own work quiet for the time being simply because we don't have much to show other than minor, behind the scenes preparation stuff.

This is not of my concern; it's an extraneous worthless detail.

Quote
As you said, the 'all by himself'- I can't answer for that, because I never said it. We did mean it, because Rasqual did figure out Falcom's compression utility. He completely reverse engineered it with no assistance from any of us in the group, and found a way for us to patch it into a playing version of the game. I'll even make a youtube video of it in action if you so wish for it.

There are things done to it that I don't have the capability to do, and I don't think we could do just using your utility. I'll even show that we no longer have the translated config screen or any of the spells that were done in the patch you gave me. I actually uninstalled Sora no Kiseki and reinstalled it to wipe your early patch off of it. On all of my machines. It's gone.

...though despite doing whatever I can to prove myself to you, I know that as you've likened me to the trash you try to keep from this forum, I will never be able to convince you that we're not using your tools.

I'm not gonna keep repeating myself. I'll take your word for it for now, but verify it for myself later. That is all I can really do at the moment.

Quote
But I will tell you this. Just because you tell us "No," we're not stopping the project.

It's a free country. You can walk into traffic, jump off a cliff, by all means, do what you want. As long as I had nothing to do with it, as long as no advantage was gained from the work that I did for you, I'm perfectly content with it. It does present a difficulty in selling off my unfinished work and all the time I wasted because of you, but shit happens and that's my problem.

Quote
You are in no position to, in fact.

Once again, I never claimed to be in the position, you stupid bitch. Stop pulling that strawman out.

I didn't tell you to stop/cancel your project in this post, the prior one, nor in AIM. Cease and desist pertained solely to anything you might've still been using that was the result of work that I DID. I've been quite specific about that.

Do you know English?? What the fuck does this say in the AIM message you received:
"Sef1roth: You more than have the right to exist with another group, but you began translation on my system with my script dump and again, I dunno exactly what the hell you did after our last conversation."

I bolded the text of interest for your ass to help you with your fucking reading of it. I told you that from the get-go, so why in the fuck do you keep pulling out this strawman of your right to exist being questioned/challenged? ENGLISH, BITCH! ENGLISH!

Your right to exist WITH DERIVATIVES OF MY WORK is what was/is being questioned, if in fact that was the case, which you claim it not to be.

Either way, you still benefitted from me, bitch. The scavenger known as alerith that was pretty quick to create his own project page after I removed ED6 content from my site is somebody I had the displeasure of working with in the past (apparently was monitoring my site for a while) and ViperDan is a good friend that's been with me for many many years. All of these are contacts that you the bitch gained as the result of my work, along with the publicity from my site given its past Ys projects. As much as I would like to take EVERYTHING away from you that you gained from me, I can't... All I can do is prevent you from gaining further publicity from my site which means keeping this incident private.

Quote
We can do this well enough without you and without your tools.

This point was made over and over. Good luck with that.

Quote
So that's what's going to happen.

Oh boy, you sure told me off. Fuck you.

Quote
So please stop assuming that we've wronged you, and please stop assuming I'm going to simply toss your stuff around like that. I haven't. I considered us done when I logged off AIM on June 30th, and that's what we are. Done.

Lemme know when you're done reading this so I can delete your account. We'll be truly done when I have the chance to verify all the claims you have made, once any of your work goes public.

Au revoir and go fuck yourself.
