Ys Online Europe?
« on: Jul. 18, 2009, 07:14:20 PM »
Open beta started. http://www.ysonline.com/
Anyone gave this a try? I'm kind of tempted, yet reluctant because it might end up taking up a lot of my time. D: And I'm not sure if it's restricted to Europeans or not.

Sorry. It's restricted to Europeans only.

I've played it ever since the first closed beta started. It's an okay Korean point'n'click MMORPG that's based on the Ys series. Plays kinda like Diablo games, except it's more cartoonish (more so than the upcoming Diablo 3).

The music is all orchestrated with a handful of songs being remixes of classic Ys tunes. The soundtrack can be downloaded from ysonline.com.

There's many Ys references found all over the game (Romuan soldiers, stories about the red-haired hero, huge Roda tree, Eresian and Afrocan races, Pikkards (which now look weird), etc.), but otherwise the game doesn't feel very Ys like.

If there's any questions regarding the game, feel free to ask me. I can even direct them to Key To Play staff, if necessary.
