PSP version
« on: Apr. 05, 2006, 04:17:58 AM »
OMG, I bought this a few weeks ago, and this game is terrible !
I've never seen a game with so much loading time (one per screen change)
You even get a 3s loading time every time you gain a new level ! :o

It totally ruins this game :(

Hehehe, all I can say is "In your face!" to those who claimed that this would be better than the PS2 version.

The PS2 version rules. Period.  :-*
DVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: ! Sir, the door was open.

Blah, the PS2 version sucks too.
Only the PC version has the right to exist.

If you mean that the PS2 version sucks because of the 3D character models and the CG opening, your right.

However, there still is that cheat that will allow you to play it as if it were the PC version (Anime Opening, Character sprites, etc.)
Rarest game owned: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith
Now Playing: Ys Book I & II (TGCD)
Game Specialty: Castlevania Chronicles

I checked the list: Rubber Tubing, Gas, Saw, Gloves, Cuffs, Razor Wiring, Hatchet, Gladys, ..... and my Mitts.

Nope. No (known) cheat to change the 3D models to sprites. And I stand by my opinion: the 3D models are awesome.

Are you sure about that?

Because if you enter this in the cheat room

yellow 2x, red 2x, and blue 1x, (after you put in the master cheat of course)

this will start the game in PC mode with english voice-overs and anime
cut-scenes.

PS... the master code is:
red blue yellow red blue yellow

but try that if you could and tell me if its what I think it is...  ;)

Yeah I know it changes the cutscenes but the 3D models remain.

Load times > in-flight movies.  And the media player is a great toy for me to play with.

However, does anyone know what the last two movies would be, or how to unlock them?  I've cleared the dickens out of the game, right up to Nightmare.

Who finished this PSP version ?
I've stopped playing it just one hour after I've played it for the first time.

I finished it.  I actually thought it was a decent port considering it was made for PC.  I like it better than the ps2 version.  I don't like the 3d models.  Just my opinion.  Yeah the load times are bad but I feel for the hardware they were porting it to they did a pretty decent job.  It's not Konami's fault that the UMD discs and disc drive suck.  Majority of games have load times just as bad if not worse on the psp.  This version is still closer to the pc than the ps2 one to me.  Anyways I did beat it and it was fun to play through.  It's nice being able to play Ys 6 on the go.

Well, if you run the PSP version off of a memory stick then bye bye to your loading times. 8)
