I remember reading something about YS IV being dubbed while RIGG was still alive, i just wanted to know, is that project still alive?

Don't count on it, sorry.
DVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: ! Sir, the door was open.

Well, I still hope they do it someday. Then, they could also redo Ys III's dubbing. It couldn't get any worse than the original.

How about you get a friend to come over, mute the TV, and make your own?

;)

Well... at least we know it couldn't be any worse than the English dubbing of the introduction of Ys VI. lol

FYI, an Aussie fella that goes by the handle 'GeeMac32bit' recently turned up that actually wants to complete the dubbing for this... How about that ??  I didn't want to make an announcement on the frontpage to let everyone know because the probability of him giving up is high (though on the other hand, it *might* help with his cast recruitment), so I thought I'd just make a post in passing about it right here.

As Arjak pointed out, he's got a thread for cast recruitment right here so on the off chance that you might wanna be apart of this effort, you can make contact with him there.

Here's the result of his dubbing for the opening sequence:

For comparison, here's Justus' work:

I'll also throw this one in for those that never saw it:

(Justus had found a great actress for Karna. It's too bad it ended. In fact, I just checked, I think I'm only missing one dialogue line of hers. Justus might've finished all her lines except for one... Damn.)

So anyway, I offered to give GeeMac32bit everything I have which is 1) 19 or so dubs that Justus managed to complete before giving up on this idea, 2) batch files for ADPCM sound clip extraction/reinsertion, and 3) a text file with some info to help match a sound file to written text as found in the YsIV Speech text file (included with the patch) and what not, etc. Psycho DeuceBag might've possibly updated said speech file after being motivated by Justus back when he was trying to do this. I'll have to ask him about that since I don't think I ever got that update; it went directly to Justus.

Well, there it is! We here of the Ys Utopia.net staff wish him all the best. ;) Should he manage to succeed, it'll give some priority back towards eventually updating/modernizing the Ys IV patch (which I planned to do someday) to include his dubbing work.

You break my record, now I break you, like I break your friend!
