Hard Mode for PC?
« on: Jun. 01, 2006, 03:46:49 AM »
Before my question, I'll just quickly say hi and then thank NightWolve for all the work he is doing.  So uhh, hi and thanks.  Anyways, on to my question:

Does the PC version of YsVI have a hard mode and a time attack, or is that only on the PS2 version?  I've already beaten the game and all of the bosses, but after the credits finish all that's on the title screen are "New Game", "Load Game", "Options", and "Exit".  I have the latest patch, 1108.

There is no time attack or hard mode in the first version (the one with the white box -- the limited edition). The newer release (greenish box) does come with time attack mode and various difficulty levels, though. (Easy, normal, hard and nightmare, I believe.)
DVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

So the only way I could play hard mode is if I got the newer version?  That kinda sucks...  Oh well, thanks.

Isn't there a patch to add at least the dificulties? like the one that adds inferno mode to YsF.

It kinda sucks that the PC version doesn't has Hard Mode as the Normal Mode is easy, i beated Ark of Napishtim on Hard in my first playthrough, but i still have to beat it in nightmare. :P

Hey, NightWolve's patch could fix this! Or maybe not...

The big difference between the two versions is the data.na file (the data.ni file is different too, but not so big).
The common data between the two versions of this file are spread differently in the file and it's not easy to make a small patch to have this.
So far the only method I know is getting both data.na and data.ni from the "standard edition", but that almost as big as getting the entire game.

Ys VI Limited Edition

Ys VI Standard Edition

The box art of the Limited Edition looks so much nicer that I almost want to own it instead of Standard Edition, even if it doesn't come with hard and nightmare modes + time attack.

And it comes with Ys COMPLETE WORKS and the "All About Falcom" DVD.

But I think the standard edition box looks nicer, the limited edition looks kinda boring.

I like the limited edition better, not to mention all the extra stuff that comes with it. But I'd really like to play the harder difficulty levels and the time attack. S#@*! I don't want to buy the game again.  :( Isn't there a way to get those different files?

If you download 700MB worth of files, then yes you can play the standard edition with the limited. I doubt anyone wants to host those files for you. Just buy both editions.

Falcom's only selling the Popular Edition now and that's the same as the standard edition. Get it, it is cheap.

Sheesh, maybe I'll buy it in the end... What's the best place to get it? Do you know if they deliver in South America?
